“Christian” Left false teacher makes desperate attack against real Christians

Mark “Jesus is not my God” Sandlin has another extended-play straw-man argument against authentic Christians that assumes that unrestricted LGBTQX behavior is completely fine with Jesus: How the “I’m Special” Confirmation Bias Ruins the Bible (Be sure to check out the comment thread — it is getting fun already!  One thing I’ll grant to Sandlin is that he doesn’t ban people like his thin-skinned “Christian” Left site does).

The bumper sticker that says, “God loves us all, but I’m His favorite,” not only gets it wrong, but points to a much bigger problem that absolutely ruins much of what we read, (or, more precisely, interpret) from the Bible.

I’ve seen countless bumper stickers, heard hundreds and hundreds of sermons and read countless book but I’ve never heard of the ““God loves us all, but I’m His favorite” theme. Halfway through the article I couldn’t figure out why this gigantic straw-man was being set up, let alone why the “Christian” Left Facebook page was pretending that authentic Christians hold this view.

Ah, I should have known. It was just another pathetic argument rebelling against the truths of the Bible.

Did you ever wonder how an all-loving God condemns LGBTQ folks to hell? It’s the“I’m Special Confirmation Bias.”

No, it is the same reason He sends anyone else to Hell: For their rebellion against him. He just happens to use that as an example.

Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 1:26–27 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

There’s nothing like taking a group that the Bible is mostly disinterested in (7 or fewer verses out of more than 31,000 verse) and turning them into one of the most vile groups in the eyes of God to really build up your “I’m more special” needs without having to do anything other than be judgmental about other people.

More straw! No one light a match. This is the “Christian” Left’s fantasy world where oxymoronic “same-sex marriage” and LGBTQX behavior was the perfectly acceptable norm in the church for 2,000 years (and longer in Judaism) until those mean old Conservatives came along to ruin it! Reality check: The “Christian” Left brought this up, inspired by their father of lies, and we are merely defending the truth.

And it isn’t “just” 7 verses (how many does Sandlin need to know not to have sex with animals?!).  The Bible couldn’t be more clear. Bible-believing Christians and even two out of the three types of pro-gay people* (religious or not) can see these truths:

  • 100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior describe it as sin in the clearest and strongest possible terms.
  • 100% of the verses referring to God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.
  • 100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).
  • 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions of any kind. There are no exceptions for “committed” relationships.
  • 0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to LGBT couples parenting children.

Really, really very clear.

Did you ever wonder how an all-loving, all-powerful God allows folks to spend eternity in Hell for a few years of being bad on Earth? It’s the “I’m Special Confirmation Bias.” Condemning other people never-ending, fiery torture for not living into your own interpretation of what piousness means based on a sometimes, somewhat ambiguous text will do wonders for your “I’m special” ego!

Not at all! I know about it based on the word of God — the same word that the “Christian” Left mocks and rejects. Here’s just one simple example of why you shouldn’t consider them to be Christians. The “Christian” Left doesn’t agree with the beginning of the Gospels (virgin birth, claims of divinity (John 1)).  Or the end (physical resurrection).  Or the middle (miracles, Hell, teaching against “same-sex marriage” and evolution, claims to be the only way to salvation, claims of divinity, etc.).  Yet they claim to follow Jesus. They reflexively add and take away from scripture. Wolves like Mark “Jesus is not my God” Sandlin deny things like the virgin birth, which is clearly taught in scripture, then make up things about the Magi tipping off Joseph about Herod’s plans.  One of the many verses they reject: Luke 9:26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.  And their life (death) verse: Jude 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Oh, and anyone who actually knows the Bible realizes it is eternal torment, not torture.  Now why would Satan — er, uh, Sandlin — make a mistake like that?

Over the ages, the “I’m Special Confirmation Bias” has helped Christians justify slavery, the holocaust, segregation, subjugation of women, apartheid, the Spanish Inquisition, domestic violence, all sorts of exploitation and the list could go on and on.

Sandlin slanders real Christians the way he blasphemes God: Thoroughly and continually.

It’s a bias that is so strong, it over powers unambiguous teachings of Jesus like: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another . . .”

Wait — you mean he found a verse he liked?!  Ah, but where is this verse from?  The Gospel of John!  That’s the very book that he specifically denies as belonging in the Bible when he is busy denying the deity of Jesus.  And false teacher Chuck “Jesus is not the only way but He sure is a bigot” Currie did the same when denying that Jesus is the only way to salvation.  So why is he referring to it authoritatively when he thinks it supports his position?

We have confirmed ourselves as the keepers of all that is righteous and pious, and play God with our judgement and punishment. But we do not play the role of an all-loving God, we play the role of a God that is vengeful and wishes to see other people suffer – a God that “knows” that we are special.

Uh, who is this “we?”  The authentic Christians I know have seen the truth of the Gospel and want to share it with others.  Looks like Sandlin suffers from projection bias.

The biblical texts, read with the anchor of the teachings of Jesus, should lead us to lives that build people up, help those who are marginalized, extend love to all people, and approach all questions with humility and compassion.

You mean the biblical texts that Sandlin regularly mocks and denies?

And why does the “Christian” Left specifically exempt unborn human beings — or even those 90% out of the womb — from this love and compassion?  These Molech-worshipers insist that life begins at the first breath (as if any of the rest of their faulty theology is informed by an historical Adam!) so they support abortions for any reason at any time up until a complete delivery.  No, it is worse: They want more abortions via no restrictions and taxpayer-funding!  Tell me more about your compassion, Sandlin.

Real Christians approach God with humility and know that we have been saved by the blood of the cross and not by anything we did or could have done.  We glad share the Good News with anyone willing to listen — including LGBTQX people.  It is the “Christian” Left that denies the truth to these people who desperately need it.

Run, don’t walk, from wolves like Sanldin and the rest of the “Christian” Left.  They don’t love LGBTQX people.  If they did, they’d tell them the truth.

* The three general types of pro-gay theology people:

1. “The Bible says homosexuality is wrong but it isn’t the word of God.” (Obviously non-Christians)

2. “The Bible says it is wrong but God changed his mind and is only telling the theological Left.” (Only about 10 things wrong with that.)

3. “The Bible is the word of God but you are just misunderstanding it” (Uh, no, not really.)

    1. Hi and thanks for visiting and commenting.

“The difference between us and you is that we don’t judge others. Leave that to the Lord.”

That isn’t true. First, the “Christian” Left judges all day, every day. Do you seriously not see that? https://www.facebook.com/TheChristianLeft

Re. judgment — Yes, I am judging! Jesus said to (John 7:24). He just said not to judge hypocritically (and I am not doing that). The Holy Spirit also said to judge those in the church (1 Cor. 5). And so on. http://wideawakechristian.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-bible-says-not-to-judge-right.html

And even if you didn’t judge — not that there is anything wrong with non-hypocritical judgments — that would obviously not be our only difference. The “Christian” Left denies the divinity and exclusivity of Christ, the authority of the Bible and more.

      1. Its still judgemental. And our Lord reminded us to judge not lest ye be judged. Let it go, for your peace of mind. I am loved by God. You are loved by God. Revel in that instead of using the Bible to judge others.

Have you actually read and understood that context? Apparently not. The context is hypocritical judgement. He says to first judge yourself – get the log out of your own eye – and then you can clearly see to judge the other. We are told to judge the fruits of teachers (Matt. 7:15ff), to rightly judge (Lk. 7:43; Lk.12:57; Jn 7:24), to judge all things (1 Cor. 2:15), that we will judge angels (1 Cor.6:2-3), to judge those who claim to be Christians (1 Cor. 5:11-13), to judge what is said (1 Cor. 10:15), to correct a wrong-doing Christian (Gal. 6:1) and to even judge elders (1 Tim. 5:20).

Our whole lives are actually nothing but judging – right from wrong, bad from good, etc. BUT we are to judge “RIGHTLY.” So you need to re-look at your pet “judge not” passage and follow the context rather than using it to silence those who expose false teachings such as what is prevalent among the “Christian” left!
