Churches are too silent on un-biblical divorces

One of the things I love about my church is that they are actually doing something about divorce. One member was recently removed from the church for seeking an un-biblical divorce. It was done in a loving, clear, Matthew 18 style and sent a great message to the church. Unfortunately, too many churches are silent on “frivorce*” as that would impact donations.  But that does an injustice to the aggrieved partner, to the children and to society at large.  I guarantee you that others in our church will think twice about such divorces, because they know there will be church discipline.

Via The first redefinition of marriage was much worse for children than same-sex marriage:

No-fault divorce is worse than same-sex marriage, and there is almost no support among Christians for taking it on, although my view is that both no-fault divorce and same-sex marriage need to be repealed. I don’t know how we are going to fix this unless Christians start to get serious about marrying well, and for the long-term. But more is needed – we have to make it harder for people to get divorced, and harder for people to get money from the government just for having children outside of marriage. We have to shame behaviors that harm children, and shrink government so that men become more indispensable, and staying married becomes more important to women. (over two-thirds of divorces are initiated by women)

And (in response to a comment below) we should be showing young people the benefits of getting married and staying married – not just for children, but for society as a whole. That’s especially true for young Christians in church – in my experience, the men often don’t see marriage as an exciting enterprise that could make a difference for Christ, and the women often think of marriage as something boring to put off for as long as possible. I think one of the great ways of evangelizing the culture is showing them a romantic marriage, a home that is warm and welcoming, and happy, healthy children who are respectful and hard-working.

You can read more in this article about no-fault divorce by Dr. Stephen Baskerville. (The Baskerville that Mohler mentioned)

He covers 5 myths about no-fault divorce:

No-fault divorce permitted divorce by mutual consent, thus making divorce less acrimonious

We cannot force people to remain married and should not try

No-fault divorce has led men to abandon their wives and children

When couples cannot agree or cooperate about matters like how the children should be raised, a judge must decide according to “the best interest of the child”

Divorce must be made easy because of domestic violence

*frivolous (i.e., un-biblical) divorces

I am not making this up: The “Christian” Left pushes a Gandhi “God has no religion” shirt

What is it about the “Christian” Left that makes them swoon over Gandhi, a professed anti-Christian?  These people pose as Christians and get wounded when we state the obvious and point out that they are anything but authentic believers.

Amen!!!

This has been a very popular shirt — now it’s available in multiple colors in men’s and women’s sizes.

It’s available for a limited time, so order now: http://teespring.com/new-god-has-no-religion

Real Christians would never say such a thing.

Sojourners also continues to give away Gandhi posters if you subscribe to their blasphemy.

More about Gandhi: First, Gandhi was overrated.

Second, people miss the irony of his statement about likIng Christ but not Christians. While appearing to be humble, it is actually the height of arrogance. He obviously feels superior to all Christians. And if he didn’t trust in Jesus for his salvation then he hadn’t learned enough about the real Jesus to assess that.

Jesus was God in flesh, so of course Christians will fall short of the ideal. But Gandhi thought he was good enough to meet God’s standards on his own. Epic fail.

Third, did they know that Gandhi was anti-abortion?  They should put that on their t-shirt.

Pre-announced whoredom is still whoredom.

Via Bedding 12 Strangers in a Year, Not Surprisingly, Ends 18-Year Marriage.

Sex in her 18-year marriage had gone routine and stale. What’s more, forty-something “Robin Rinaldi” wanted a baby, something her husband was adamantly against. So she proposed a limited open marriage, a 12-month sexathon with strangers, and she has written a book about it.

In The Wild Oats Project, Rinaldi writes, “Stuck in a rut — our once-a-week sex life was loving but lacked spontaneity and passion — I was craving seduction and sexual abandon.”

Since motherhood was closing for her, Rinaldi rushed toward what she calls, “this whole other outlet of heightened female experience — taking lovers.” She and her husband came to an arrangement. She took an apartment where she lived and cavorted during the week and on the weekend came home and lived as a wife.

. . .

In a video, now blocked, attached to her column in the New York Post she insists the reader will be surprised at the ending to her 12 month sexual odyssey.

What she found was that coming back to her full-time marriage after a year “proved more difficult than I had thought.”

No kidding.

Pre-announced whoredom is still whoredom.  If I tell someone I’m going to lie to him and that it is OK if he lies, we are still both liars.  Same thing for this mess.  Despite their talent for rationalization, they are both serial adulterers.  That she set out to do this for profit just makes it worse.

Easy prediction: One day her new lover will wake up and realize he could get better sex somewhere else, and since they both agree that finding the ultimate sex partner is the foundation of a relationship, he’ll move on.  She’ll see her sexual value in the market diminish rapidly and will end up lonely, childless and sad.  Because most great, marketable guys dream of relationships with women who abandon 18 year marriages so they can sleep with strangers and make money off of a book about it, right?  Or either one will realize he/she is sleeping with a spectacularly shallow and selfish person (ignoring his/her own shallowness and selfishness) and will move on to someone “better.”  I’ve seen that happen with many who abandoned their commitments to be with their “soul mate.”

And along the way, she’ll have convinced other women to make her mistake.  After all, she got a “happy” ending, right?

She is a perfect analogy for the “Christian” Left.  They got bored with the real Jesus and have whored with all sorts of false religions.  At least this woman eventually broke it off with her husband.  The “Christian” Left still pretends to follow Jesus!

I hope they all find the real Jesus.

Great law and great politics: Kansas ban on dismemberment abortions

Good news via Kansas Republicans pass law banning dismemberment abortions:

The state of Kansas has been a haven for late-term abortions for decades and pro-life advocates there successfully lobbied the legislature to approve new legislation that would help put an end to some of them.

In a move that it tells LifeNews.com will transform the landscape of abortion policy in the United States, National Right to Life announced a major new component of the right to life movement’s 2015 legislative agenda with introduction in Kansas of the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act. The pro-life group says the wave of pro-life victories in the 2014 election helped set the stage for this first-of-its-kind legislation, which would protect unborn children from the brutality of dismemberment abortion.

“Dismemberment abortion kills a baby by tearing her apart limb from limb,” said National Right to Life Director of State Legislation Mary Spaulding Balch, J.D. “Before the first trimester ends, the unborn child has a beating heart, brain waves, and every organ system in place. Dismemberment abortions occur after the baby has reached these milestones.”

Great law: Saving children from this barbaric process!

Great politics: Describing how abortions dismember innocent children will help restore meaning to the word.  Too many people aren’t confronted with what it really does and this will make them appropriately uncomfortable.  This helps combat the lie of the “Christian” Left that children aren’t “really” alive until their first breath*, so Jesus if fine with abortions at any time for any reason.

*From the “Christian” Left: “According to the bible, a fetus is not a living person with a soul until after drawing its first breath.”

Death taxes are ghoulish and they will harm blacks more than whites.

While the estate tax debate is typically framed as a soak-the-rich proposition, I find the whole concept to be immoral. If the government desperately needs those tax revenues it should find them somewhere else. It is simply wrong for the government to profit from the death of anyone, rich or poor.  If actions such as earned income or sales transactions generate taxes, so be it.  But dying should not be such a catalyst.

I like it better when governmental and business entities root for me to stay alive, such as in the case of life insurance. Note that I don’t expect to benefit if the estate tax is eliminated permanently; I just think it is wrong.

Keep in mind that the rich folks who come out in favor of estate taxes may not be quite as noble as they appear. Some of them buy businesses on the cheap because families must sell them to pay estate taxes.

The “really rich,” whom the government wants to soak, typically find loopholes to avoid paying taxes. The “sort of rich” are the ones paying most of the taxes.

As George Harrison of the Right-wing extremist Beatles sang in Taxman, “And my advice for those who die . . . Declare the pennies on your eyes.” As a life-long fan of Beatles music this was one of the few times I agreed with their politics.

It is about to get much worse.  Via Daily News Briefing: Obama’s budget proposal would give the United States the world’s highest death tax. Also see Black business owners on board for repeal of death tax.

OUCH – The United States will become the country with the highest death tax in the world if the president’s recent budget proposal is enacted, hurting American competitiveness and disproportionately affecting minority- and female-owned businesses across the country, according to The Hill.

Contributor Harry Alford, cofounder, president, and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, cites a study by two Boston College professors showing that the death tax will cut African-American wealth by 10 percent to 13 percent by 2055.

“The death tax creates an unfair situation for minority businesses which have primarily started to accumulate wealth within the last 60 years. Many minority-owned family businesses are first-generation businesses, where children work alongside their parents,” Alford wrote.

“These business owners do not want to sell out at fire-sale prices to pay the estate tax and eliminate the livelihoods for the next generation in addition to the jobs for those whom they employ.”

Alford said that one study showed that 90 percent of black business owners believed that the death tax hindered their prospects for long-term growth.

Phil Robertson gets the best of the Left. Again.

Leftist & atheists have no response to his simple argument, so they pretended that his hyperbole was a fantasy.  Via ‘Duck Dynasty’ star Phil Robertson under fire for graphic anti-atheist speech:

Robertson described a graphic scenario while sharing his thoughts on those who do not believe in God.

“Two guys break into an atheist’s home,” Robertson began. “He has a little atheist wife and two little atheist daughters. Two guys break into his home and tie him up in a chair and gag him. And then they take his two daughters in front of him and rape both of them and then shoot ’em and they take his wife and then decapitate her head off in front of him. And they can look at him and say, ‘Isn’t it great that I don’t have to worry about being judged? Isn’t it great that there’s nothing wrong with this? There’s no right or wrong, now is it dude?’

“Then you take a sharp knife and take his manhood and hold it in front of him and say, ‘Wouldn’t it be something if this was something wrong with this? But you’re the one who says there is no God, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, so we’re just having fun. We’re sick in the head, have a nice day.

“If it happened to them, they probably would say, ‘Something about this just ain’t right.’

Why is he “under fire?” All he did was point out how the atheist worldview can’t accurately ground any acts as truly evil. Oh, the irony that they think it was objectively wrong of him to say that!

Please note the following then ask yourself why the Left is so upset.

  • He didn’t emphasize that the bad guy was a non-Christian. The victims were atheists.
  • Yes, it was a colorful illustration, but keep in mind that his critics are largely pro-abortion extremists. Which is worse, his word picture or the actual crushing and dismembering of innocent human beings that they support?  Or even your typical horror movie?
  • He gave the atheists the benefit of the doubt by assuming they would know those acts were wrong.

He used a vivid illustration to draw attention to his point. And it certainly seems to have worked.  They have lashed out in the only way they can, deliberately misinterpreting his clear points.

Turns out that Phil outsmarted the cultural elite.  Again.

From the “I’m not making this up” department: Quotes from the “Christian” Left

Here are some samples of all the love, tolerance and sound theology you’d expect from the “Christian” Leftists, who deny the deity of Jesus, deny his exclusivity for salvation, deny the authority of scripture, insist that abortions up to the first breath of the child are approved by Jesus*, are pro-LBTQX extremists and so much more.

And remember that these are the comments that don’t get moderated.  But if you post biblical truths you’ll get bounced immediately as a “troll.”

Shove your Bible verses up your ass!

Yep, that was a comment there.   Read on!

Gee. it sure is HARD to not hate those GOP T-Bagger wingnuts–is there a pill out there that helps? I’ve tried all the Gods–and I still hate the GOP (smile).

If you require the threat of eternal damnation to be a good person—you’re not a good person

The left seems to focus on what breaks down community. Ignoring the sick, leaving the hungry out of the picture, refusing to see the humanity in the least of us.

Even Jesus wasn’t perfect !!

What a racist cunt

I’ve never understood why they want to focus on parts that are simply NOT as important as Jesus’ teachings…it’s all such drivel

Sin was created when and by whoever mentioned it in the Bible first. That’s the guy who created the concept of sin. The same is true of the entire concept of “God”.

damn i like this site!!

I find the belief in hell to be utterly wicked.

I did the opposite – Christian to agnostic.

Who was behind the Crusades? Who was behind the Inquisition? Who was behind the witch trials? Christians, that’s who. It just took the Muslims a while to catch up.

I went from Christian to Deist. I believe in God, I just have a hard time following along with a book that says so many hateful things. Men wrote the Bible and claimed God inspired it. God created homosexuals, independent women, and everything else on this amazing Earth. I’m more inclined to go with what God did rather than what some group of men claimed he said.
