Romans 1:18-20 is proved out by those denying verses 26-27

The life (death) verses of atheists and the “Christian” Left:

Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

And their litany of bad exegesis of verses 26-27 prove that to be true.

Romans 1:26–27 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

They’ll say that Paul didn’t know what we do today, but that tips their hands about their denial of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (not to mention that Paul almost certainly knew about homosexual relationships).

They’ll say it was about temple prostitutes, even though the text doesn’t mention temple prostitutes, temples or prostitutes.  Oh, and there were no lesbian temple prostitutes.

They’ll say it was about older men taking advantage of younger men (which is true enough about today’s gay culture), but the text clearly says men and men.  And again, the text mentions lesbians as well.

And so on.

They are without excuse.

  1. This is the first time I’ve ever heard that the temple prostitutes were only male. Can you suggest any references for this? It’s an extremely strong argument against the misreading of this text.

    Thanks!

      1. Very interesting…
Though, as we both know, arguments like these won’t convince those who are already hardened against the truth. God help us to be good and faithful witnesses. Amen.
        Appreciate the quick answer.

      2. Agreed! I think it just puts a stone in their shoe, in the sense that every time they repeat the bad argument they will know they are lying. And it helps the real Christians to stand strong!

        Blessings to you!
