For clarity, let me remind you that Trump and Clinton are equally very evil, just in their own unique ways, and neither will get my vote. Yes, I know Jesus doesn’t run in any election, and I know all about total depravity and how we must choose between flawed individuals. But I wouldn’t have voted for Hitler over Stalin or vice verse, either.
But to the point: Trump may win because he can run just barely to the right of Hillary — which is still quite Left, of course — and appeal to the masses.
Example: Obama’s overreach on the bathroom bill gives Trump the opportunity to say he is fine with “same-sex marriage,” abortion, etc., but the bathroom thing just goes too far. That message will resonate with tons of low-information middle ground voters who have been deluded into affirming all sorts of perversions but still have a tiny remnant of truth that they haven’t completely suppressed in Romans 1:18-20* style.
Trump is incredibly unlikable, but he has the good fortune of running against someone who is cartoonishly unlikable. And he won’t be afraid to attack Clinton the way McCain and Romney were afraid to attack Obama.
I can’t believe this guy has a good chance to be the President of the United States.
*Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
