How Obama will help Trump win

For clarity, let me remind you that Trump and Clinton are equally very evil, just in their own unique ways, and neither will get my vote.  Yes, I know Jesus doesn’t run in any election, and I know all about total depravity and how we must choose between flawed individuals.  But I wouldn’t have voted for Hitler over Stalin or vice verse, either.

But to the point: Trump may win because he can run just barely to the right of Hillary — which is still quite Left, of course — and appeal to the masses.

Example: Obama’s overreach on the bathroom bill gives Trump the opportunity to say he is fine with “same-sex marriage,” abortion, etc., but the bathroom thing just goes too far.  That message will resonate with tons of low-information middle ground voters who have been deluded into affirming all sorts of perversions but still have a tiny remnant of truth that they haven’t completely suppressed in Romans 1:18-20* style.

Trump is incredibly unlikable, but he has the good fortune of running against someone who is cartoonishly unlikable.  And he won’t be afraid to attack Clinton the way McCain and Romney were afraid to attack Obama.

I can’t believe this guy has a good chance to be the President of the United States.

*Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

  1. If you knew what I had to contend with in the schools every day, you would see that Trump/Hillary are the least of our problems. At least, from where I stand.

  2. This may be the first time since I first was eligible to vote that I won’t cast mine for president. I share your concerns about whomever is the nominee for either party. There are hints of people like the Koch Bros. spending huge bucks to promote a third party candidate not yet identified. Don’t know if that helps or hurts at this point, given that it likely will give the Dems and advantage of a split center-right electorate. The one thing that pushes me towards holding my nose and voting for Trump (after which a hot shower of disinfectant would be in order) is that there is no doubt about how the Dem option will turn out, particularly with regards to SCOTUS appointments. That is the one area that I think is of greatest importance given how the liberal side of the bench has been key in enabling liberal policy.

I can’t believe that after two terms of Obama, we are faced with an election of even greater importance than ever before. The consequences of acting or not acting seem equally dire for the nation.

  3. Please. All of you who think you should not vote because the choices are poor, please vote anyway! First of all, this is not a choice between Hitler and Stalin. It is a choice between a die-hard socialist and a savvy business nincompoop. We must not let such a poor choice prevent us from having a say. Otherwise we will lose it altogether!! So pray hard, trust in the sovereignty of our mighty God and VOTE for goodness sakes.
