About those lobbyists and the NRA . . .

The Left tries to blame the NRA every time there is a shooting, even though none of the NRA members ever do the shootings in question.  They make a big deal out of how the NRA has donated to politicians.

But check out the top lobbyists for 2017.  The NRA is not one of the top 20 lobbyists, but even if they were, shut up, because 2nd Amendment.

And look who is on the list! Comcast, the customer service giant (ahem) and supporter of Leftist favorite “Net Neutrality.” So you know that would be good for consumers.

There are also lots of medical companies who want the government to give them more business. And the Chamber of Commerce, which loves illegal aliens as much as the Left.

And worst of all, the gun-grabbing Leftists ignore how Planned Parenthood, government-sector unions and other Leftist organizations partner with the politicians to take turns giving each other our money.

Please remind Leftists of these things when they bring up the NRA.

Here’s a handy jpeg to share wherever you like:

As if you needed more reasons to distrust the media . . .

Katie Couric’s gun-grabbing propaganda: Highly edited.

Videos exposing Planned Parenthood selling parts of aborted children for profit: Not highly edited.

Katie Couric and her film-making partners have been completely busted for their lack of integrity and anti-gun bias.  These Leftists just happened to have been caught this time because someone recorded the entire interview on audio, but you have to know that this has been going on 24×7 for decades with the media (The Daily Show, anyone?).  Here’s more:

Remember last summer when every media person with a fax machine recited the narrative that David Daleiden’s undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood were “deceptively edited?” Uh huh. Well guess what? Katie Couric has a new “documentary,” Under the Gun, intended to push the anti-gun agenda and drumroll please… SHE DECEPTIVELY EDITED THE VIDEO. This is what some in the industry call a “smoking gun.”

Here’s the clip that made the final cut:

Couric wants to show how stupid, careless and uniformed gun-owners are. Her edited segment tries to paint pro-gun people as having no answers to the typical leftist talking points.

Except in the actual interview? The one that happened, in real life, before being cut by bleeding heart leftists intent on pushing a narrative, the narrative being “gun-owners are heartless cretins” and “guns are, like, super bad things, you guys”? Right, that interview paints a much different story. Spoiler-alert: Couric is a lying liar who lies. The gun supporters? Turns out, pretty informed. With the benefit of being right. Also protected by the Second Amendment.

The sad thing is how many people get their news solely from the mainstream media — and that includes the disgusting FOX channel these days — so they believed the lies about the Planned Parenthood baby-part-selling videos being “highly edited.”  Yeah, highly edited in the sense that they didn’t follow people into the bathrooms and record them there, but not highly edited in the sense of capturing their uncut conversations.

Couric’s video, on the other hand, was deceptively edited.  And they are trying to say we misunderstood!  Nice try.  That just adds another insult to the pile.  Just one more reason not to trust the gun-grabbing, child-killing, perverted, coveting Leftist media, education, religious and entertainment institutions.

The evil inconsistency of the “Christian” Left

Note: This was written before the latest Muslim terrorist shootings in California

They pretend that all pro-lifers are violent just because a very small number have been violent and when their violence is the opposite of the beliefs of the movement and of Christianity.  Oh, and they ignore the spectacular violence of abortions.

They pretend that all gun owners are to blame when a very small number break gun laws and harm others.  And they ignore the countless lives saved by guns.

They think the Constitution doesn’t give you a right to bear arms but that it does give you the right to a dead baby.  These ghouls literally believe that you can kill a child up to her first breath for any reason with Jesus’ approval.

They pretend that Islam is a “religion of peace” and that the murderers are the exception.  To do that they have to ignore the entire history of Islam.  That’s hard work!  They ignore the obvious: Muslim violence is in accord with its founder and teachings, whereas violence in the name of Christ is not.

Then again, remember that these “Christians” believe the opposite of Christians on all major doctrines.

Run, don’t walk, from “Christian” Left “churches.”

LaBarbera Slams ‘Craven’ Justice Anthony Kennedy for Striking Down DOMA Provision ‘in the Name of the Children’

Yesterday’s decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court striking down Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and effectively invalidating Californians’ vote to preserve marriage as between a man and a woman — continues America’s godless trajectory toward sexual and gender chaos. We have become a Profane Nation at war with our own heritage and the Judeo-Christian moral values that helped make us great.

Healthy societies discriminate against sexually immoral behavior: homosexuality, sex outside marriage, pornography, incest, etc. This benefits children and adults by using the law to reinforce stable moral boundaries and steer citizens away from destructive (sinful) behaviors. So it was stunning to read the majority decision by Justice Anthony Kennedy – a Reagan appointee – overturning DOMA’s pro-natural-marriage provision in the name of the children.

Compassion? A parable — a great illustration about who really loves the people with same-sex attraction (those who encourage them in their spiritually, physically and emotionally deadly practices or those who have the courage to speak the truth?).

Report: Top IRS Aides Visited White House 300 Times — More proof that the mainstream media died in 2008. How could this scandal of epic proportions get ignored so quickly? It is telling how many Leftists can’t see the connection.

This high number of visits occurred despite the fact that both Shulman and President Obama claimed to have no knowledge of the IRS intimidation tactics. Both also said there was no coordination between the IRS and the White House.

Officials at the IRS and President Obama still maintain that there was no coordination between the White House and the IRS, of course, but this latest revelation makes that still harder to believe.

“Bush saved 9 million lives” says this celebrity — I met many Kenyans who agreed with Bono. I still remember a World Vision employee cheering about all that Bush had done.

Why no outrage over Planned Parenthood actions? If the media wasn’t so radically pro-abortion more people would know about PP’s practice of hiding statutory rape, incest and sex trafficking victims. That’s the real “war on women.” People who kill babies for a living don’t care about helping victims of sex crimes. They should be de-funded, put out of business and prosecuted.

Bart Ehrman Creates Stir in Atheist Community Over The Existence of Jesus

Anal Hazing Hits High Schools — Gross, but important to note. This is tragic. I guarantee that the accessibility of p*rn and the failure of our government to do anything about it and the failure of parents to protect their kids from seeing it (you do have Internet filters or other controls in place, right?) will ensure that things like this will increase.

Hey, I agree with lots of Obama’s gun study!

1. Most gun deaths in the US are due to suicide, not violent crimes with guns or accidental shootings. This is a said statistic, but again, this goes back to mental healthcare, not guns.

“Between the years 2000-2010, firearm-related suicides significantly outnumbered homicides for all age groups, annually accounting for 61 percent of the more than 335,600 people who died from firearms related violence in the United States.” [Source]

2. Mass shootings account for a negligible amount of crime in the US. In fact, mass shootings are one of the rarest forms of violent crime in the country.

“The number of public mass shootings of the type that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School accounted for a very small fraction of all firearm-related deaths. Specifically, since 1983 there have been 78 events in which 4 or more individuals were killed by a single perpetrator in a day in the United States, resulting in 547 victims and 476 injured persons.” [Source]

3. This one is probably our favorite. The study admits that self defense is a common occurrence and happens at least as much violent crimes involving guns. This is a direct busted myth to the anti gun argument that guns are almost never used for self defense.

“Defensive use of guns by crime victims is a common occurrence […]. Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008.” [Source]

4. Furthermore, on self defense, if you carry a gun and fight back against a violent assailant, you are less likely to be killed or harmed than someone who decided to fight back and employ another self defense tactic or weapon.

“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns […] have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies.” [Source]

The study isn’t completely pro-gun, as you wouldn’t expect a truly unbiased study to be and does include some statistics and postulations theorizing different ways gun ownership could be a bad thing.

Good analysis by Stan on the term “gay Christian.”

First, the word preceding “Christian” is an adjective intended to describe the Christian in question. Inserting “gay” as a descriptive suggests that it is an apt descriptive. But how is it appropriate to describe a Christian by the sin from which he or she suffers? We don’t reference “lustful Christian” or “proud Christian” or whatever other besetting sin as a descriptive of the Christian. Why “gay”?

Crime pays — at least under the amnesty bill. Should illegal aliens be held to the same standard, if not higher?

“Oh, it was just stabbings? Never mind.”

There was a recent set of stabbings at a local community college that just happens to be a few miles from us.  Mercifully, no one was killed or permanently injured.  My youngest daughter used to take classes there and some friends currently attend there.

The TV sound was off when I first saw the news in the locker room at 24 Hour Fitness over my lunch hour, so I assumed it was gun-related.  Fortunately the weapon of choice for the evil person was a knife and not a gun.

But why didn’t this continue to be newsworthy?  Where are the calls for bans on knives?  Oops — guns, knives and even clubs are already banned there!  Where are the calls for knife registrations and knife purchase background checks?  We all know that if guns had been used that the Leftist gun-grabbing ghouls and false teachers would have been trying to gut the 2nd Amendment before the bodies were cold.

Once again the students were set up to be victims because the law-abiding citizens were left unarmed.  Some heroes stepped in to stop the bad guy, but if they had been armed there might have been less injuries.  And if the bad guy had used a gun then many lives could have been lost because no one could have stopped him.

Guns vs. abortions

This post about Purchasing A Gun vs. Purchasing An Abortion made some excellent points about the many inconsistencies in how the Left approaches the Constitution, regulations and life issues.  Hat tip: My favorite blogger

Let’s take a look at the differences and similarities between purchasing a gun and purchasing an abortion.

Both guns and abortions are goods or services which are produced and purchased on the free market.

When a gun is purchased, there’s a 99%  chance that gun will never result in the death of a single individual. When an abortion is purchased, there is a 99% chance the abortion will result in the death of an individual.

My tax dollars aren’t used to purchase a gun for someone who can’t afford it. My tax dollars are used to purchase an abortion for a woman or a girl who can’t afford it.

You can legally use a gun to kill an attacker in self-defense, if your life is threatened. You can legally use an abortion to kill a baby for any reason, including the mother’s life being threatened by the baby.

You can get suspended from school for drawing a picture of a gun. Read here. You can get the morning after abortion pill from the school nurse.

There is a background check and a waiting period in order to purchase a gun. There is no waiting period or back ground check to purchase an abortion. For a girl under 18 there are 6 states that require at least one parents permission 24 to 48 hours before the abortion.

. . .

On the one hand the left worked to create and expand a nonexistent right, which forced their morality concerning abortion on the states and the people, and on the other hand, they want to restrict and take away a clearly stated right concerning fire arms, which would also force their morality on the states and the people.

I guess the lesson to be learned is, the left wants to force their morality on us through government coercion, rather than trying to persuade people to accept their morally superior ideas as gospel.

I encourage you to read the entire post to pick up the points about the Constitution..

9 Things You Should Know About Duck Dynasty – I don’t watch it, but it sounds good.

1. Long before he appeared on the hit A&E series, patriarch Phil Robertson was considered the “Billy Graham of duck hunting.” His first public-speaking opportunity came in the early 1990s when he was asked to give a duck-calling seminar at the Superdome in New Orleans before a 1,000 people. After talking about duck calls and hunting, Robertson reached into his bag and pulled out his Bible. “Folks, while I’m here,” he said, “I think I’m gonna preach you a little sermon.” Afterwards, he received other opportunities to speak and preach and was soon booked years in advance to talk to churches and other organizations.

3. Although the family is often shown praying at the end of each episode, Phil Robertson says that the show’s producers are frequently uncomfortable with the family’s strong Christian faith. “They pretty much cut out most of the spiritual things,” Robertson told The Christian Chronicle. “We say them, but they just don’t run them on the show.”

Joints are called called Stupid Sticks for a reason.

They are coming for us: Gay activist introduces bill to ban speech critical of homosexuality in schools.  Yet I can still hear the drones chanting, “But ‘same-sex marriage’ won’t affect you!!!’’”  Make no mistake, they won’t rest until we are silenced.  I wonder if they will consider it “hate speech” to quote the CDC statistics that gays have HIV and Syphilis rates that are over 40 times that of straight men?

Not just public schools, but private schools, including Christian schools.

“Homosexual activists in Minnesota are pushing for a broad “Safe and Supportive Schools Act” that would outlaw speech that could interfere with a student’s ability “to participate in a safe and supportive learning environment.”  The bill is being promoted as the strongest “anti-bullying” law in the nation, but critics say it could have a chilling effect on free speech, especially in religious schools that teach Christian beliefs on sexuality.”

Randy Alcorn on Distractions, Obsessions, and Kingdom Work – How do you know when your hobbies or activities have become idols and barriers to you being a good ambassador?  This is a good reminder for all of us.  (Emphasis added)

I think what we’ve got to do is look at everything in our lives and ask, “Is this under the lordship of Christ?” Christ is to be Lord of my whole life—including my house, car, hobbies, television-watching, and whatever role sports may have in my life.

In 1 Corinthians 10:31 we’re told, “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” So with anything in my life, I have to say, “Can I do this to God’s glory?” and also “Am I actually doing this to God’s glory?”

Whether it’s fantasy football or quilting, whether it’s Facebooking or email or movie-watching—whatever it is—is this thing an instrument or a tool of God in my life that’s bringing about some good things like rest, recreation, and intellectual stimulation? Or is this thing a bad thing that is distracting me from kingdom priorities? Instead of doing this, could I be developing a relationship with my neighbor, helping someone who’s in need, spending time in God’s Word, reading a great book, or talking with my children?

So it’s not about legalism or a hard and fast rule that says, “You must do this or you must do that.” But it is about weighing and evaluating and finding a balance in our lives. . . .
